Over the years of playing travel baseball, my coaches have put me everywhere in the field and top to bottom in the lineup. But the one thing I have heard repeatedly from every coach I've played for is that I am very "coachable". I listen well and am always open to learn new things. My ability to quickly learn and adapt along with my effort allows me to be put in any situation and grow as a player or person. When coaches needed someone, they would call on me to step up and do whatever it was they needed (very rarely do you hear of a player that has played at every position at some point in their career). My athleticism and awareness always made me a threat on the field.
One thing you don't hear from coaches about me is that I am a team leader. I was never the guy who would break the team huddle or hype everyone up in the dugout. I am a reserved individual who was almost never called out for being loud and obnoxious. Despite this and what coaches say about me, I think I was the perfect team leader. I always did what was asked of me to my fullest ability. Almost too much of my time is spent cleaning up dugouts, picking up batting cage baseballs, and grabbing teammate's gear that they accidentally left behind. And even though I would the quiet kid on the team, I always supported my team in game and helped push them to be greater as baseball players and people.
If you are curious, ask me about what made me realize I love baseball.
