Personal Statement
When I was five, I decided that I wanted to be a tennis player. I love the strategy and complexity of the game, as well as meeting new people while competing. I have always been competitive; loving the challenge of trying to be the best at all that I do. I have excelled leading my teams in the academic setting of school and in the athletic arena through example of hard work, dedication, and my innate ability to motivate others. I have worked hard academically taking honors and AP classes each year. While maintaining high academic honors, I have not only participated on the high school tennis team and traveled to USTA local and regional tennis tournaments, but I have been a state-qualifying member of my high school swim team achieving "AA" cut time standards. I plan to bring my strong work ethic and leadership in academics and in my athletic career to my chosen university.

- I have been training for tennis for 12 years including 10+ hours of practice per week. Involving myself in tennis tournaments around 2 times a month to improve my game for the tennis season. While being involved in tennis most of the year, I take 4 months off for swim season and its demanding training. Included in this is an hour of lifting 3 times a week during school, and around 2 times a week during break.

- Training everyday, except Sundays, for 3 hours after school and 3 morning practices a week before school ; three 2-day breaks (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve). During winter break we have doubles everyday except Sundays including 3 hours practice in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon.
