John Cone '18 Recruiting Profile

I am self-disciplined, level-headed, and hard-working.  I love the team aspect of the game as well as the individual performance aspect.  In an article in our local newspaper, my coach said, "Cone sets the tone on the field for the team- both in attitude and in level of play.  He's a great athlete and a great kid. We enjoy being around him."  The article also says, "He catches, he plays the outfield, he's our leadoff guy... I feel we could put him anywhere and he would have success.  He's a bright spot in our lineup."  It's important to me that people see me as a great athlete, but also as a great person on and off the field.  My interests also lie in academics, so it's important that my teachers view me as an intelligent and respectful student.  I believe that academics and athletics will help prepare me for a successful future.
