Mia Otten '22 Recruiting Profile

In my collegiate career, I would like to pursue something in the medical field, as I like to help people.  Throughout my volleyball career I have always been a team player, and work well with all of the other players.  Volleyball is a team sport and no one person is going to win the game, it has to be done in a collective effort to be successful.  I do my best every day to preform at the highest level, for myself and my teammates. I put in the time required to become the best player I can be.  My continued growth both physically and mentally has increased over the past seasons. I am a dominate lefty, standing at 6'3" and still growing.  As a sophomore, I led my varsity team with 385 kills, 85 blocks and 49 aces, earning 1st Team All-Conference player.  During my academic years I have always kept a focus on my grades while staying involved with leadership opportunities in my school.  Some examples of my leadership characteristics are, being a  team captain of my high school volleyball team, student council vice-president, and an active member of the national junior honor society (NJHS).
