Personal Statement

I define myself as a player by displaying constant hustle, toughness, and baseball IQ.  Whether I am catching or playing shortstop I see myself as the field general.  I lead my teammates by the example I show through my attitude and effort.  Coaches appreciate that I am always working hard and am willing to listen to their instruction.  I work hard to continually improve my game.  I know that there is always someone vying for the same spot at a university that I am, and I do not want my lack of effort to be what allows someone else to potentially take my spot. My father has always told me that, “someone is always watching.  You may never know it, but someone is watching everything you do.”  Because of this, I strive to conduct myself in a manner that shows that I have true character on and off the field.  I didn’t start playing baseball until I was almost 9, but ever since I picked up a bat and glove the game has felt natural to me.  People have told me that I am smooth or that the game just looks easy to me.  While playing does come to me more naturally than some, I have worked hard to get where I am, and I will continue to work hard to get where I want to be.  Coaches should know that I love the game, I have never been pushed to play, and I play because baseball is my true passion.  I desire to play at the next level more than anything and will work to continue and develop, both as a player and a person throughout my high school years.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
