2024 Spotlight
June 2023
January 2022My college goal is to move toward a career in sports psychology as well as continue playing baseball. I am excited to play baseball in college, as it will help me stay focused, motivated, and improve my skills, as I further my knowledge in the area of psychology and how it applies to sports.
I have played sports for as long as I can remember. Playing baseball, football, and basketball has helped me become a better leader, helped build my team playing skills, as well as increasing my self-confidence. Some of my accomplishments are being chosen for the first team all-State for football in sixth and seventh grades as well as starting on the varsity football team in my freshman and sophomore years. I have decided that I would like to focus on baseball in the future. In baseball, which I have played since I was 5 years old, I excel in speed, getting on base, bat speed, hitting mechanics, and was second on my team for putouts. This last year, while playing on three different teams, I led all my teams in stolen bases and made no errors in the outfield all season. I also had the highest on-base percentage for my team. In addition, throughout the years, I have learned how to play a number of positions well, including first base, pitcher, centerfield, leftfield, and rightfield. My favorite position is centerfield.
Going to college is important to me so that I can get the education to become a sports psychologist. In addition, I would love to be the first person in my family to go to college. It’s important for me to work toward a career that I will enjoy. I look forward to becoming a sports psychologist, because I will get to work with athletes, remain in the field of sports, and use my sensitivity and empathy to help others.
I currently have a 4.0 overall GPA. Academics are important to me, and I work hard to maintain good grades, something I will continue to do throughout my time in college. Being a successful student athlete while taking classes to become a sports psychologist is something I would love to make a reality.
