Hello, my name is Kaden Clute. After this crazy COVID year, I am eager to start my Senior year in person at Forest Grove High School. Over the last 4 years, I have been a tri-sport athlete playing football, basketball, and baseball. I lettered on the Vikings Varsity Baseball team my freshman year. I also lettered in Football and Basketball my sophomore. I am currently the starting Varsity catcher in baseball, started at quarterback on Varsity as a Junior in football, and was the backup point guard on Varsity as a Sophomore in Basketball. I have managed to do all this while maintaining a 3.6 GPA while taking all AP and honors classes, working a part-time job, and playing for the Bridgetown Baseball Travel Club.
In baseball, I am a right-handed batter with a knack for line drives. As a utility player, I am a skilled catcher, middle infielder, and outfielder. Recently, I was one of over 250 players to be recognized and named to the 2nd team all-tournament team at the 2021 Pathway Albuquerque Scouting Tournament in New Mexico. I am a very coachable, positive, and hard-working individual that thrives in a team environment. I am always eager to learn new skills and I continue working hard to improve my abilities so I can advance in my baseball career.
My parents instilled in me when I was younger that hard work, dedication, integrity, and being humble are all super important qualities that lead to success. I take these qualities with me on and off the field. In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors with my friends and family. I enjoy hunting, fishing, strength training, or just sitting around a campfire after a long day. I am an active part of my community and volunteer my time refereeing youth basketball games and helping younger kids at various other sports camps.
It has always been my dream to play baseball at the college level. In college, I am currently planning to major in Engineering specializing in Welding as I am very mechanically oriented. The idea of designing and building new concepts that can be implemented or altered to improve our existing technology is something I look forward to.
