My baseball journey started in my small town with our little league team, after that, I had the opportunity to play with several travel teams. Most recently I played my first year of high school baseball as a freshman with our varsity team. I was the opening day starting pitcher as well as starting out playing third base but then quickly switched over to first base.
So far through my young baseball career, the moment that has had a huge influence on who I am today is losing the “play-in” game during my freshman year and not advancing to the state tournament. But bigger yet, with that season-ending game, I lost the positive influence of all the seniors that helped me improve my game to the level that it is right now. Those seniors were like no other to the new guys on the team, they accepted the freshman on varsity and helped us every step of the way, they each gave us someone to look up to when we were fresh in the high school program.
As I enter my Sophomore year of high school, my main goal is to prepare to pursue a career to be an Athletic Trainer and hopefully, have the opportunity to play baseball in college. If given the chance I would love to play professional baseball someday.
To this date, the biggest accomplishment of my career is being named a varsity starter my freshman year and finishing with the fifth most RBI’s on the team while also leading all freshman in that same category.
The highest priority of mine is to get good grades because they are ultimately what will get me where I want to go. I work very hard to keep my GPA up while still performing well on the field.
