Hello Coaches,
My name is Peter DeMaio and I am a 6'4", left handed, 2023, LHP, 1st Baseman, and Outfielder. I've been playing baseball since I was 5 years old starting where most people do which is tee-ball. This then led to pitching machine for the next two years and then the beginning of the real way baseball is played, which is the game I love more than anything. From there, things only began to take off. As an 8 year old, my goal was to make the local travel team to continue to play in the summer. Unfortunately, that goal was unsuccessful. As upset as I was, I knew the only way to fulfill this goal was to work and practice every single day as much as possible in order to improve my skills as a player. Little did I know that all that work had payed off and I wound up having a monster season which only scratched the surface on what I was able to accomplish in the following years. I only continued to grow as a player but that experience was what helped me take off, learn, and accomplish all I have today. Moreover, I've fortunately built a better name and reputation for myself, while also establishing a strong work ethic that helped form me for who I am today.
More recently, I attended Devon Preparatory School and was able to be the only 6th grader on the middle school varsity team. This then helped with growth of my reputation at the school as a player and with continued development over the years make varsity this past season. While doing this I've also been able to keep a high GPA and take advanced classes and further grow my knowledge from an education standpoint.
Finally, as a player, I've never been hesitant to have great conversation with feedback being received from my coaches. I've also never had a problem with needing to work harder in order to improve and earn my spot as a player. Off the field I am very grateful and thankful to God and my family (Dad, Mom, and six siblings) for all they've done for me and been able to help me with along the way. I know the job is not finished and I have much more to accomplish and learn in order to grow as a player and overall person from a character standpoint both on and off the field. I just hope (God willing and with His blessings) that all the early games, long practices, extra reps, showcases and camps pay off in letting me be able to be apart of a great college baseball program, with a great education. One day, I'll know this journey will pay off.
Thank you for considering me to be apart of your program!
Peter DeMaio
