At this time, I aspire to work in the medical/rehabilitation field, and have narrowed it down at this point to physical therapy/kinesthesiology with concentration in sports medicine or podiatry. I have had a keen interest in sports since a young age. I was a three sport varisty letterman (4yr basebal, 3yr soccer starter, 3yr basketball) also played for two competitive travel baseball teams. Therfore, I have had to utilize the services of our athletic trainer. She was excellent, and her explanations of why certain techniques were utilized really peaked my interest in further exploring this type of career. And, with a mother already in the medical/rehibilitation field, have had first hand experience in observing what different therapists (PT, OTR, SLP) do to provide rehabilitive services to a variety of people from birth to adult. I also have a friend whose father is a podiatrist. He has afforded me the opportunity to speak with him as well as observe him providing a range of services to his clientele. He also provided me information on how podiatry can be integrated with sports medicine.
I feel that i am a great for a team. im a extremely dedicated to improvement whe comes to enhancing my baseball skills, whether it is my strength, agility, mechanics, or techniques. This dedication transfers over to my team, as I give 110%, from practice to games to backing my teammates to ensure the success of the team. I wear my heart on my sleeve and Im a true team player, always taking a silent but strong leader role and never hesitating to help out anywhere I am needed. I am very coachable and respectble of critique so I can use it to advance my skills. Im never to big for the game, I always know im not perfect, and can always improve on skills or learn new things about the game I love. I am also able to multitask well, and can juggle a rigorous sports scheduel with my schooling, as I have proven over the years by completing advanced classes and maintaining good grades since my freshman year.
In a nutshell, what makes me different from other recruits is that I am academically focused and would never jeopardize my spot on the team due to poor grades also I use good judgement and wouldnt make a poor decision that could affect my team in any negative way. I would never risk my spot on the team this has been my dream to play collegiate baseball since I was a young kid. It would be a huge honor to be a scholar athlete.
