My collegiate aspirations are to prepare myself for a career in the wide world of sports, either as a professional baseball player or within the many roles of sports administration. For several years I have already been taking steps to ensure that I fulfill this goal. I have strived to be attuned in the approach I have taken toward my life on and off the diamond. I understand the importance of academics, learning from others, leadership skills, personal relationship skills, and positive practice attitude. I am thankful for having a family that understands my aspirations and have never complained about them taking me to the gym, personal trainer, practice or games.
As a catcher, I have the opportunity to be the leader on the field. To accomplish this I use my knowledge of baseball physics and experience to call pitches, set the defense and professionally take command of the field. Yet, my team leadership does not end when I walk off the field. I take great pride in sharing my knowledge with other players, during non-athletic school functions, and while volunteering for civic organizations.
I strongly believe that dedication is the key to success. By balancing my academics, extra-curriculum activities, family life, and my positive exertion for baseball, I have become a well-rounded person. This is why I would be an excellent candidate for collegiate baseball. During my time on a collegiate team it would be an honor to prove my dedication for baseball and leadership skills, while maintaining a high level of academic accomplishments. Baseball is much more about ‘doing,’ it is about understanding and executing. My unique combination of versatile traits sets myself above others and I know that no matter which direction I go in life, I will be successful.
