My name is Evan Shade, I’m 5’10’’ and 175 lbs. I am an infielder and in my most recent season, I was the Varsity starting second baseman as a sophomore. My goal is to play baseball at the collegiate level and help a team win. I am willing to do whatever a coach needs me to do and I will always put 100% effort into it. I work hard 365 days of the year and train in the offseason to make myself better and be ready for the next season. In the classroom, I am very dedicated and strive to get good grades. I am willing to challenge myself and take difficult classes to heighten my academic ability. I believe my 3.7 GPA reflects this. I always work well with my teammates, classmates, and coaches. Communication is a key aspect of the game and I am always staying in contact with fellow infielders, the pitcher, and the outfielders behind me. Goal setting is also an important part of my game. I like to set goals for each season, each game, and even each at bat. Last season, a goal of mine was to have less than 5 errors. With my dedication, I was able to achieve this goal.
All of the reasons listed above are why I believe I can play at the collegiate level and help a team win many games.
