I am a hard working determined student athlete. I believe in doing what it takes for the good of the team. An example of this was in my sophomore year. I injured my ankle on the first day of practice. The injury had me out for most of the season. Even though I couldn't wrestle I attended every practice. I helped with couching and rallying around my teammates. I returned with 1 match before post season. I went on to place 5th at sectionals and advanced to the next round. Unfortunately, I did not place sectionals. That year I was awarded Rookie of the year. Something that I did not think was possible because I was not able to wrestle. I learned that my passion, dedication and drive for the sport and my teammates is just as important as my ability to be on the mat.
