My goals in a college are to attend a school to pursue a degree in journalism/sports writing/media or broadcasting. This past fall, I interned with an up and coming brand for high school football and basketball, in which I travelled around Pennsylvania and at times went out of state. I am looking for a college that has solid academic opportunities in order to reach my academic goals.
My goals in baseball are to play at the highest level where I can be competitive. My philosophy is to always go to do my best and help my team reach its goal. What I feel sets me apart is that I was unable to play in the spring of my sophomore year due to a winter training injury. I worked extremely hard in Physical Therapy so I can return to the game by June. From there I was able to play for the rest of my season, which ended in late October.
Last summer, I made All-Tournament Team for Pitchers at both the 2019 Perfect Game 16U WWBA Championships in Cartersville, Georgia and the 2019 Perfect Game 17U World Championships in Fort Myers, Florida. These achievements were accomplishments. Though I still strive to improve, I was proud to see results from the hard work I put in.
I trained through this past offseason to prepare for return to school ball. With current circumstances and the loss of the spring season, I am more determined than ever to reach out to coaches and advocate for myself as a player. Nobody is happy about losing this spring season, but I have now lost two. The last time I represented my school was as a freshman, and hopefully I will return as a senior next year.
Scranton Prep is a challenging school academically. This has taught me to work hard and prepare for college. I scored an 1140 on my SAT and have completed the schools after hours prep course to improve upon that. I plan to retake in June, since the March and May tests were cancelled.
I am asking that coaches look beyond my limited experience and know that in giving me an opportunity, I will use it to better the team and myself.
