Wyatt Lepley '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is Wyatt Lepley.  I am a senior at Uniontown Area High School, in Uniontown PA.  I will be graduating in the Spring of 2019.  I have been a starter on the high school's varsity baseball team as a freshman, sophomore and junior.   In 2014 I trained at the Ripken Baseball Complex in Aberdeen where I was the top performer and earned their "G-Standout Award" for my age division.  I also have played on several competitive travel teams as a starter for the last 7 years. In 2016 and 2017, George Yancheck, Fairmont State's head baseball coach (now retired) invited me to play on his USSSA Southern travel team.  Both years our team earned championships.  In 2017, I also had the opportunity to play with The Hopwood Heat on a Pony League, Bronco Division sanctioned team, where we won regionals and made it to the next to last round in zones.  

 I currently pitch and play third base but, I also play short stop and second base.  For the last two years I have been training with retired MLB pitcher, Joe Leonard, where we focus on pitching mechanics, strength training and agility. I have also taken batting lessons for the last four years from Geo Muzika who played for St Vincent and assists with a local high school baseball program. I also play basketball in the Winter, where, last year, I was a starter for my AAU team and for my high school JV team.  

As excited as I am to continue playing baseball into college, academics are important to me. I am still undecided, however, over this past summer, I interned at a local Physical Therapy office to research this as a potential field of study. I will also be doing an internship with my father at his company, Boeing, to research computer science.  

 I am excited for the next level and I am looking for an opportunity where I can continue to build on my baseball foundation while continuing to build my knowledge and character.
