Personal Statement

My ultimate goal is to play collegiate baseball. I have been playing since I was 5 and have been hard at work since. I love the connections that are made with teammates and coaches in baseball that not only better you as a person, but also prepare you for adversity later in life. In college I plan to further my academic career in business, and hopefully sports management, to pursue a job in the sports industry. Also, I plan on becoming a large part of the baseball program. I have been able to hit at every level and have very sure hands at first base, which are qualities I think I can bring to the table on the field. Off the field, I will conduct myself with honor and integrity, representing my school proudly.

Andrew had a terrific year while playing both first base and third base. Andrew’s coach, Glen Johnson, was impressed by not only his baseball ability but his attitude as well. Coach Johnson had this to say about Andrew: “Since game one Andrew has been Mr. Consistent for us. He finished up the season batting .375 with 5 doubles, 1 triple, and 14 RBIs. He led the team in walks with 12, which yielded an OBP of .525. Andrew is a leader, both on the field and off the field. He works hard every day and always gives it his all. He's a guy that you will always appreciate having on your team.”

  • Scout Comments: 6/15/16 - 60 Time: 7.65, Position Velocity: IF-68, Exit Velocity: 82 5'10, 190-pound, LHH hits from a balanced and even stance and begins with some fairly high hand positioning, uses a bigger and quicker leg kick and a lowering and push back of his hands to get himself loaded. Lower half is engaged by the leg kick and spins a little bit to get through the zone, could help his balance and strength in lower half to stride out a little further than he does currently, bat path is flat through the zone and showed the ability to hit the ball to all fields, handsy swing doesn’t create much power at this time. Defensively, showed good footwork around the bag and some athletic ability, good hands led to a long but clean exchange and a long arm action from an over-the-top angle to produce accurate throws with average carry.
