My parents love to tell the story of when I was a baby and I had a little red bat I crawled everywhere with. Any kind of ball, I loved them all. I began playing competitive baseball at the age of five for my first travel baseball team. I moved from that team to an older team and played with boys two years older than me. I learned to work hard for what I wanted and learned that “love for the game” does not always make things easy. I developed my personality to be talkative and playful with my teammates. However, most importantly, I learned to care for my teammates like family. With caring and interacting with my team as a family, we play together as a team instead of individuals as it should be.
