Connor Gilkey '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Connor Gilkey and I am in the class of 2022. I go to Valor College Prep but due to our lack of facilities and sports teams I am a varsity shortstop for our co-op program Glencliff High school. But for the 2022 season or my senior year my school is switching our Co-op to Overton High-school. As I have grown up playing mainly infield, I can play almost every other position on the field. I am a lean 6’3 170 pound infielder that has been starting as a varsity baseball player since I was a freshman, winning the most games the school has ever seen in over a decade. As I finish up my junior year, I finished with a .440 batting average, recording 33 hits in 27 games. During this I lead the team in slugging with the most doubles, triples and home runs on my roster. I have competed in several travel baseball programs since I was little, playing almost every position at some point. I am a very long and quick multi sport athlete that knows the game very well. As for academics, I attend one of the hardest schools in the Nashville area, maintaining over a 4.0 while taking over 5 honors and 7 AP courses during my time leading up to my junior year.
