Baseball has been a passion of mine since I was three years old and pretending to hit the ball and run bases in my backyard.
This passion has continued throughout my life and has also taught me that baseball can give you great successes and challenges. One challenge I faced was pitching as a 12 year old in the Texas State Little League Tournament with a fractured hand from an incident in practice. Although the pain was extreme and tough, I would never trade this experience of competing with the teammates I grew up playing with since the days of Coach Pitch.
During my freshman year of high school, I was given the opportunity to exhibit my talents and continue my love of the game. In another example of a challenge, I was given the ball and made my first start as a pitcher on Varsity at the age of 14. Although my freshman baseball season was cut short due to the pandemic, it showed me that I will be given challenges and it will be up to me to take advantage of them and make them into opportunities to reach my ultimate goal of playing college baseball.
