Shane Brown '28 Recruiting Profile

I am looking for a college that gives me the opportunity to compete for a starting position, offers a quality education, and will help with the expense of paying for college.  Additionally, I share a deep passion for baseball, much like my father, who was a right-handed pitcher at Rice University. As a right-handed pitcher myself, I aspire to continue my baseball journey at the college level. I have been switch-hitting since I was three years old and have continued switch hitting over the years. I also have experience playing in different positions, such as first base and outfield, and I am committed to playing the game of baseball.

My love for baseball goes beyond just playing; it's about the commitment to self-improvement and being a reliable leader for my team. I have a strong desire to win and a competitive spirit that drives me to give my best in every game. These qualities have not only helped me excel in baseball but also in other sports, such as football. In fact, this year, I had the privilege of being the starting defensive end for my 8th-grade A-Team football squad.  I lead my team in tackles this year.

I believe that finding the right college is not just about academics but also about finding an institution that values the development of the whole person. It would be an honor to be a part of a college that appreciates the importance of athletics, character, and education.
