Shane Brown '28 Recruiting Profile

I am a driven and competitive student-athlete seeking a college program where I can contribute immediately, especially on the football field. My primary goal is to play college football at the next level as a defensive end edge rusher, where my quickness off the line, physicality, and relentless motor can make an impact. I also bring versatility to the field with experience as a tight end on offense and long snapper, and I take pride in being coachable and dependable in any role my team needs.

While football is my primary focus for college, I also have a strong passion for baseball—a sport that runs deep in my family. My father was a right-handed pitcher at Rice University, and I’ve followed in his footsteps as a right-handed pitcher myself. I've been a switch-hitter since the age of three, and I continue to hit from both sides of the plate while also playing first base and outfield. I’m committed to continuing my baseball journey in college if the opportunity aligns with my academic and football goals.

My commitment to athletics is fueled by a constant desire to improve and lead by example. Whether it’s on the gridiron or the diamond, I bring intensity, resilience, and a team-first mindset. In 8th grade, I earned the starting defensive end position for my 8th-grade A-Team football squad and led the team in tackles—a reflection of my work ethic and competitive drive.  My freshman year, I was the starting edge rusher, tight end, and long snapper all season. 

I am looking for a college that offers:
