I started playing baseball when I was four and immediately fell in love with the game. Our family loves watching baseball, playing baseball, coaching baseball, and talking baseball. It is no surprise that my baseball IQ is one of my biggest strengths as a player. I hope to continue playing the great game of baseball for as long as I can.
I truly appreciate the game and all that it has taught me over the years. It has taught me many lessons: the first being how to succeed through failure. As someone who loves to win and be the best at everything I do, it took me many years to realize that failure is just a step on the way to success. As a late bloomer physically, I learned to compete with kids taller and stronger than me. I was the underdog, and I had to learn to rely on my skills despite my size. I learned to have faith in myself, and with the support of a great family and some great coaches, I have learned to push through failure to find success.
If you play baseball, you know that hard work is just part of the game. However, there is a sense of accomplishment knowing that you worked hard to achieve a goal, which I find to be especially rewarding. I have learned to set both small and large goals along the way. Baseball has taught me pride in my work--whether it is reaching a new high exit velocity or having a good outing on the mound. I appreciate all the hard work that takes place on and off the field in order to reach those goals.
I am looking for a program that is a good fit athletically and one that challenges me academically. I look forward to continuing my development and reaching many more of my goals in the future.
