Personal Statement

I am one of the lucky ones. My entire life I have had multiple examples of what hard work and perseverance looks like. Between my mom and dad who both work in human/public services, my dad a police officer and my mom is the CEO of the local Boys & Girls Club, I have learned the importance of giving back, adaptability and acceptance of all people. I have a passion for science and biology and I would like to pursue a degree in Marine Biology or a related science.

I attend Westwood High School which is ranked 48th in the country out of the top 500 Academic High Schools. I chose to attend Westwood knowing how challenging it would be because I didn't want to be just another athlete in one of the other "easier" high schools in our district. Here I have had the opportunity to play-up since my Freshman year and to grow into a starter as a dual athlete in Baseball and I was named to the 1st Team All District in Region 13 6A this year in Football. I also play with the Evoshield Canes Southwest Select Team under Coach Gipps. The video attached to my profile is of my last game this past summer.  I reached my top speed for the summer at 89 and consistently threw 87 mph, allowing 0 hits in 4 innings, pitching to only 13 batters. Our team won 2-1, and I singled on a 1-0 count to drive in the winning run.  As much as I have improved in the 8 weeks of intense summer ball, my potential is unlimited as I go into my Junior and Senior years of high school and summer ball.

When it comes to college, I want to play ball and get a good education.  I am open to the conversation of attending just about anywhere that I feel I can contribute to the program and where my personal and academic needs are met. So, if you like what you see in the video and you feel I can help your team build, grow, and win or continue to win, give me a call or come out to Austin and catch one of our games. I look forward to hearing from you and to possibly being part of your incoming Freshman class in 2020.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
