I started playing Little League baseball when I was nine years old. For several years, I also played football (wide receiver/db) and basketball (point guard). In baseball, I played pretty much every position on the field, but mainly middle infield early on. Over the next several years, I really began to enjoy baseball more and felt that it was the best match for my abilities. I began to play on Select teams to be able to compete with and against players with higher levels of ability and goals more similar to my own. I also began to enjoy playing more outfield as well as pitching, because excelling at those positions came very naturally to me. In High School, I played on the JV as a Freshman with some spot duty on Varsity. As a Sophomore, I played Varsity and rotated starting in the outfield with an upperclassman. I started on Varsity as a Junior and Senior, and was the District 11-5A Co-Pitcher of the Year as a senior as well as being voted team MVP and MOP by my teammates.
I always try to lead by example with consistent maximum effort and constantly trying to improve. I focus on working on the fundamentals of the game, whether it’s hitting mechanics, pitching mechanics, fielding the ball correctly, base running, etc. I’ve been taught that “You play like you practice” and have taken that philosophy to heart. I’ve always had a lot of natural athleticism and now that I’m really starting to grow physically, I am working on building my body to become even faster and stronger to help my game.
I played the 2019 - 20 Covid-shortened season with TCS Post Grad http://www.tcspostgrad.com/ in order to focus on developing my skills and physically before starting college as a Freshman, while taking college classes part-time. I played the '20 - '21 year at Western Texas College and the '21 - '22 year at Northeast Texas Community College.
I played my Junior year at Wheeling University in West Virginia and was an All-MEC Conference Honorable Mention selection as a reliever in my first year there. I will be returning to Wheeling for my Senior season and after that, will decide if I will use my remaining year of Covid eligibility to play at Wheeling or elsewhere.
