Being moved up to varsity as a freshman to start at second base and pitch matured me as a player as I had to learn to compete and dominate at a high level. In my first year of varsity I learned how to overcome adversity, developed leadership qualities at a young age, and earned the title of Second Team All-District Utility Player. Playing in playoffs as a freshman taught me what it takes to play high quality baseball as we lost to an experienced veteran team. My sophomore year was a major time of development for me as I was voted as a captain of the team due to my skills as well as my leadership off the field. I played multiple positions in the infield and was able to help our team advance to playoffs while earning First Team All-District Utility Player. In the first round we were just short of beating the team that advanced to the state championship game, which forced me to increase my level of play and motivated me to improve myself.
Off the field I have learned to become a leader through National Honor Society as well as being an FFA officer for my first two years of high school. Being involved in stock show since the fourth grade has given me a sense of responsibility and taught me to be accountable. These activities have all shaped my character as a willing and determined leader that has the work-ethic and mind set to have an immediate impact on your program!
