Personal Statement

My primary goal is to attend a school that will provide me with a great education. Right now, my preferred field of study is Marketing, but I also have an interest in Sports Management and International Business. I love the game of baseball, and really push myself to be the best player and teammate I can be. I'm not perfect and make mistakes, but when I do I try to do it 100 miles per hour! I come from a long line of military men, so I've been raised to have integrity, honesty and work hard for everything you get. I've always been a pretty good ball player, but I believe my positive attitude and high energy separate me from other players. My dad always says, everyone at this level has talent, but the best teams are made up of players that work hard (even when no one is looking), never quit and always believe they can win. I've been told I'm that kind of player. I look forward to talking with you on how I can contribute to your team's success!

SKILLS ASSESSMENT: Batting: Garrett is a strong contact hitter (.921 contact %) with excellent bat speed and power. He is an aggressive batter who takes advantage of early strikes and connects frequently with runners in scoring position. Defense: Garrett has a strong glove with very good range in the outfield. He reads batters well and breaks on the ball quickly and aggressively. He has good arm strength for his age group, and is working this summer to increase velocity / accuracy. Other sports include cross-country, weight lifting / strength & conditioning. ATHLETIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Received "All Tournament Team" honors during the 2013 Texas State Championship tournament; Member of 2012 Global World Series Champion Texas Outlaws; Received "Gold Glove" award on club team - 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014; Received "Big Bat" award - 2011, 2013, 2014; Made high school varsity team (Bishop Dunne) as a freshman.
