Growing up, athletics has always been my comfort zone, where I am stress free and relaxed. I was never a natural athlete, and nothing ever came easy to me. I always had to work on my craft, work hard, and push myself to get where I want to be. I have had many setbacks in my life, including health issues that prevented me from playing sports. The sorrow of being away was tough, it was almost like everything reminded me of playing football, baseball, basketball, and running. When I was finally cleared to play, it felt as if every skill I had built up before had slipped away from me. I struggled to keep up with my competition, but it never stopped me. My determination, my family, and the doubt from others fueled me to push myself harder to get to the top. I went from bench on C team, for football, to starting A team my 7th to 8th grade year. I improved my non qualifying times to move onto the district meet, to record breaking times for my school. The journey I have been on has taught me many lessons, not only in baseball, but life as a whole. The best advice I have ever gotten was to never lose faith, believing it myself has been my starting point for all my past success and I hope to continue to put my faith and work into the next level, showing what I can offer my future college.
