My name is Alek Southerland, I live in a small town in West Texas. I am starting my freshman year at Hawley High School. I am excited for this journey and the ones to come. My ultimate goal is to be the best baseball player/team mate, the best student I can be and be the best person I can be. I love baseball and I know it gets said a lot, but this is my passion. I understand baseball is a privilege, not a right, there are so many kids who would love to play but can’t. I am fortunate that I can play and be coachable thru the process. I want to be the teammate that will step up and play for the ones who can’t play. I want to be in the MLB, but as of right now every time I step on that field I will give 100% because I respect this game and the field. My desire is to work hard, represent whatever school is chosen for me in a positive way. I strive to be the best I can be and take every bit of coaching and criticism to the head and heart. I have been mentally and physically preparing for this for 13 years and will continue until I achieve the goals for success.
