My name is Joshua Fernandez and I love to play baseball. I love the sport so much that my goal is to play collegiate baseball. I know that it will be a once in a life time experience and I will strive to do my best and will never take the opportunity for granted.
For my team I demonstrate leadership skills with my actions and my words. I work very hard and give my best effort to honor God, teammates, coaches, family and myself.
I am very well rounded having many interests. I enjoy music and playing piano. I play percussion in marching band and jazz band at school. Being part of the drum line in marching band makes me a better teammate. The practice and discipline required in music reinforces the principles I use on the baseball field. In the classroom I am a hard working student. I respect my teachers and appreciate the help they give me.
I've maintained a GPA of 4.0 throughout my academic career and have been placed in Pre-AP and AP classes since junior high. As a result of my strive for excellence I have been accepted in the National Society of High Scholars. I am a good friend and classmate and have been elected as a representative of the student government.
I believe in giving back to the community and I like to help others. I play drums at my church and offer drum lessons to children. I also volunteer in the children's ministry at my church. The Down Syndrome Association is and organization that means a lot to me and I participate in the Buddy Walk every year. I also help my coaches with sport camps.
The most important aspect of attending college is getting a great education and giving my all on the baseball field. My goal is to find a college that will be the best match to fit me as a student and athlete. I know I posses the qualities to do a great job and make my family proud.
