Personal Statement

My goal is to develop my athletic and academic talent to help a team compete and win at the highest level. I am putting an enormous amount of work, dedication, and discipline into my preparation to recognize my full potential. My teammates respect me for my work ethic and focus, and I enjoy being respected as a leader and mentor. My velocity reached 90mph at the PBR Showcase Event in June of 2018 (91 against Conroe in April 2019, 93 in the Greater Houston All Star Game), and I am still getting stronger each month with a 2-seam/4-seam, slider and change up. My pitching record for The Kinkaid School Varsity Baseball Team was 28-2 with 5 saves.  I was named All Conference in 2017, 2018 and 2019. I set the Kinkaid School win-loss record at 12-0, and broke the all time strikeout record my senior year with 101 Ks and an ERA of .73 with 72.2 IP with 8 walks and 6 ERs for the season.  We won the SPC Championship in 2019 and finished with a team record of 31-2.  For 2019 I led the State of TX Private School stats in wins (12) and ERA (.73).  My desire and passion is focused on committing to a good academic college with a highly competitive baseball program, and to use my talent and effort to thrive as a student athlete and help a team post as many wins as possible.

  • Camp/Event
  • PBR Top Prospect Showcase Pitching Analysis
  • 8/13/18 to 8/13/18
  • “Simmons committed to Furman shortly after this event. The right-hander has a strong, projectable, durable frame at 6-foot-3, 205-pounds. Simmons comes off the rubber with a repeatable delivery and quiet mechanics. He rocks his glove towards his waist before bringing the baseball back to his chest, where he subsequently breaks his hands with an athletic drive towards home plate. His high ¾ delivery is benefitted by an explosive top-half, producing a heavy 88-90 mph fastball with arm-side run. His 78-79 mph slider contains tight 11-5 shape, as the pitch was consistently thrown from the same window and equal effort from his fastball. He flashed a 79 mph changeup with fade and angle that could be harnessed as yet another secondary out-pitch.”

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
