I played a couple seasons of t-ball growing up. However, after playing my first season as a 7th grader on our middle school baseball team with Coach Driver, I fell in love with the game. I have not been able to put down a baseball since.
In addition, my family is very important to me and they have housed many Christian missionary families over the years. Growing up with these great people in our house regularly has helped me realize that the most important thing to me is serving God in everything I do. Sports, more specifically baseball, is a place I am able to do that. I can lead and support my teammates, and in all outcomes, my trust is in my Savior, Jesus Christ.
I also love to compete. I will do what it takes for my team to be in the best position to win. I know and understand that in order to compete, you have to grind until the very end. I have strong leadership qualities on and off the field and strive to lead others by example. Coach Carr, my high school coach, has taught me to do this by going all out in everything I do. I push those around me to be better, not only on the field, but in every aspect of their life.
I have been coached for years by some of the best in Houston. With my strong defense, mental toughness and offense that can get the job done, I believe that I can contribute on any team. My club baseball team, Canes Houston, went 15-6-2 this past summer. I will be competing with them again this upcoming summer in Perfect Game tournaments around Texas, where I will continue to strive to keep a winning culture, and excel as a player.
The same applies to the classroom. I am a standout student who is very involved at my school. I am the Vice-President of the student council, student ambassador, a member of the national Honors Society and National Society of High School Scholars as well. I have all A’s, and am taking some college level classes in hopes to get a head start on college while participating in multiple varsity sports throughout the year.
My goal in college is to contribute to a winning team, grow in my faith in God, and obtain a degree in kinesiology so that I may pursue a masters degree in Physical Therapy.
