Jacob Pool '15 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jacob Pool and I attend Leander High School in Leander, Texas. I am in the graduating class of 2015. I am fortunate that as a child my father introduced me to the great sport of baseball.  Baseball has been there through the good, the bad and the ugly and yet every time I step onto that field I fall in love with the game even more. I'm so blessed to have good health but to also be able to play the best game/sport ever developed; which is baseball. My goal is to play baseball at the next level because I've always dreamed of being a college/pro baseball player. I understand the effort required to get to the next level and I continuously work as hard as I can to overcome the odds and not just be a starter but to remain a starter. My primary position is outfielder, although I continually play multiple positions with my 18U club ball team including, 3rd base, 2nd base, catcher and pitcher.  I recently pitched a complete game allowing only 2 earned runs and 2 walks. I am playing with my fall club baseball program and currently am batting .429 with 2 triples, 9 doubles, 12 RBI and 8 BB. I am constantly working to enhance and improve my skills throughout the year in an effort to become stronger and quicker. I have played the game of baseball for roughly 11 years with the top club teams in Texas and have truly grown to love the game of baseball. Few players out work me, as I play to win being a team player who leads on and off the field. I have been improving every season and work hard in the offseason to get better. My sophomore year I led my team in average with a .355, with 5 XBH. This past summer I played 18U ball where I was the youngest player on my club team and I led the team in average with .427, 45 hits and 20 SB, with a .986 fielding percentage and finished 2nd in XBH with 12. I work to succeed in the classroom as well, as I maintain a 3.50 GPA. I am Captain of the Debate Team. Academics are a priority in my life. I am a versatile student-athlete, I’ve played just about every position on the field and believe I can compete and win at the next level. Thank you for your interest.
