My name is Colton Myers and I'm a Class of 2024 prospect. I have worked hard training for the last several years with both a strength and conditioning coach as well as a pitching coach and want to be recruited by a college where I can be an asset as a right-handed pitcher. I love the game, the challenge, the mental toughness and believe that I have a high baseball IQ capable of taking me to the next level. I am coachable and push myself to learn, develop new skills and get stronger with every game. I have been recognized by my coaches as the 'energy player' of the game and always bring the same level of energy to every game whether I am in the dugout or on the mound. My focus my junior year was honing the development of my cutter and off-speed pitches. My coaches have primarily utilized me as a reliever/closer where I have had much success with these pitches helping our team to a district championship with a 14-0 season and going 3 rounds into the playoffs. I ended the season with a .592 ERA, 1.141 WHIP facing 99 batters. I feel what makes me different is that I am willing to play the game where and when I can be most effective. I mentally prepare each day to go into a pitching setting not knowing whether I will play or not, but bringing the same energy regardless. Whether I am brought in for 7 pitches in an inning to finish a tight game or pitching mid-game, I simply want to play the game I love and help my team win and always grateful for the opportunity and ready to do it all over again the next day. I am the teammate who is happy to celebrate my teammates' successes with them but also ready and hyper-focused to help do my part. I am an excellent student and work very hard in the classroom. I participate in UIL Congress where I have attended the state meet as an alternate the last two years, am on the Speech & Debate Team and serving as the Parliamentarian for the 2023-2024 school year as well as on the UIL Accounting Team. I have made honor roll every 6 weeks in high school. Getting a college education is very important to me and I hope to pursue a business degree and focus on Sports Management or Analytics. Finally, my hope is to be recruited by a college where I can be in an active role on the roster working to continue to sharpen my pitches to help my team succeed.
