My name is Peyton Firgens. I am an honors student at Plano Senior High School (Plano, TX) and class of 2024. I have a 3.75 GPA as of February 2023.
I take honors classes and dual credit college classes right now. I plan to take some dual credit classes my senior year of high school. If I had the choice, I would take baseball classes all day long.
I have played baseball since T-ball days, and used to play soccer also until I decided to play baseball fulltime. I am the fastest on my Varsity baseball team so probably my soccer skills have helped with that. I am a very quick runner and have excellent situational awareness on the bases.
I have been playing middle infield for three years on my high school team (second base my first year on Varsity as a sophomore; moved to shortstop my junior year on Varsity per Coach’s request), after playing catcher growing up as a kid. I can play outfield also if need be, but I am better at middle infield.
I am coachable, and a team player; my high school and summer ball team coaches tell me that but I also believe that as well. I work hard to encourage my team members when they are down or a play didn’t go their way.
As I said earlier, I’d play baseball all day if I could. I stay late after practice and do more defensive drills to learn my position better; practicing and getting better is very enjoyable for me. I am very knowledgeable about the game of baseball which is evident when I am playing, including having strong situational awareness during the game. My goal is to play college baseball.
I have an identical twin brother who plays baseball and this competition motivates me too. It is fair to say we hold each other to a higher standard than anyone else on the team. (For the record, I am the oldest.)
In addition to baseball, I enjoy playing video games and going to the gym to work out with my friends.
