2019 HighlightsI would like to go to a college or university and play baseball while studying biology in preparation for a future career in medicine. I think that I am a good candidate for a college baseball team because I am disciplined, hardworking and committed to the game of baseball. I am constantly trying to improve my baseball skills by taking weekly batting and pitching lessons from former college / minor league players. I also practice two evenings per week and play on a central Texas major level select team. Although baseball is my major sport I have, in past years, played hockey and basketball in the winter months to stay in shape. I don't know about other athletes, but I am dedicated to playing baseball and am hard working, honest, and I have integrity. I am a "team player" and always treat others as I would like to be treated. I push myself in the classroom by taking all honors level courses and essentially make all A's with an occasional B in them. In my recent eighth grade STAAR test results I achieved the master's level in all my subjects. I took the ninth-grade algebra test as an eighth grader and scored in the 98th percent tile. In fourth grade I was selected by Duke University to join their academic TIP (talent in progress) program and have been a member since that time. I was also selected in 2021 by Harvard University as a member of their Future Physicians and Medical Research Scientists program chaired by Dr. Mario Capecchi, a Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine co-awardee in 2007.
