Ever since I was 4 I have been playing Baseball. From T-Ball to entering my first year of High School (2017). As a young adult I would like the chance to play at the collegiate level. As much as I love baseball I would have to say academics comes first in my family. My parents have always stressed the importance of getting an education because that is something that can never be taking away from you. Baseball has given me an outlet to learn responsibility at a very young age. Always do the right thing and be a leader on and off the field. I just finished my first semester in high school and passed all my classes with highs B's and A's. I think what makes me different from a lot of other recruits is I'm very coachable and able to adapt to change.
Scouting Report
8/3/2019 - Perfect Game 2019 South Prospect Showcase - Andrew Reece is a 2021 SS/OF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Glenn Heights, TX who attends Life School. Young and slender athletic build, lots of room to get stronger. 7.07 runner, has a good first step and closes to the ball well both in the infield and outfield, long arm action and release that probably plays best in the outfield or at third base, played well at third base in the games, has developing arm strength. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a high and tight hand load, downward swing path due to his loading position, is well timed and consistent in his swing, pull side contact. Should continue to improve in all areas as he gets stronger. Good student.
07/17/2018 - College PREP - Dallas, TX Andrew is an athletic OF/SS who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 60 time of 7.23. At the plate is where he shows best through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive approach. He shows a feel for the barrel and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. In the OF, he displays smooth / clean actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. He needs to work to get behind balls and play through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At SS, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active and he displays proper footwork but needs to play through balls more with his body. Glove action is soft but needs to present more out front. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Andrew has potential with time and room to progress his game.
