June 2020 Personal Statement
Hi! My name is Jacob Wood and I have lived in Kearns Utah for my whole life. I am the class of 2021 and a sophomore at Kearns high school. I play Baseball because I have a strong love for the game. I have been playing since the age of 4 and started playing competitively when I was 8. I wish to keep playing for the rest of my life and make a career out of it. I live by some important core values, Accountability, Discipline, Integrity, Dedication and Persistence. I also put my trust in the process and let my success make the noise. Focus comes from my drive and I try to focus goal to goal until I have achieved all. If I had the chance to play out of high school it would be a dream come true, one of my biggest goals is to get a chance to go beyond college baseball as well. What I'm looking for in a college is an Elite and comprehensive baseball program that will hopefully send me to the next level and will also provides me with an exceptional academic experience.

- DEFENSE : Showed good actions with the glove. Needs to improve his transfer skills, once the ball is out. Showed good arm strength and carry to the throws. Stay in your legs when you throw and follow the throws with your feet. OFFENSE : Needs to work on using his top hand more in the swing. This will help deliver the barrell into the zone. Lower half works well and he gets good hip rotation.
