Spencer Yates '20 Recruiting Profile

Baseball has been a passion of mine since 8 years old when I started Little League. I was not initially a talented player but I gave it everything I had and grew each season. I learned that if I wanted to play it required hard work and dedication. As a Freshman I played Center Field.  The outfield only dropped 1 ball that entire season. I was proud of that! As a Sophmore, I began catching and found the spot that was made for me! 

I intend to pursue a degree in Aerospace Engineering. This is a subject that is fascinating to me. Living with dyslexia has ensured that I worked hard for my grades. I love learning and am not afraid of a challenging class. On off season I play basketball to stay in shape. I was selected to participate in the DownUnder tournaments in Australia in 2019.  Along with being team captain, this was an amazing leadership opportunity! My dedication, hard work and leadership experience make me a great option for your team!
