I have been involved in the baseball program at Marshall for all of my high school life, where my role has been somewhat dynamic throughout the years. I learned that a player's first varsity season is always a coming-of-age experience in the eyes of coaches; with a historically formidable program, Coach Tarr saw potential in me as a sophomore. No moment proved as fulfilling to my development than earning a starting spot and instigating the eventual game-winning rally during the first round of the playoffs that year. Being a contributing factor in the varsity lineup at Marshall has been invaluable; the sense of belonging and purpose I have achieved from baseball has helped me mature and progress as a person and a member of society.
