Hello my name is Matthew Gloger and I am a junior at Heritage High School in Leesburg VA. I am 5'11 and weigh 170 lbs. I have played baseball for my school every year I have been in attendance. Also, I have been playing baseball since I was at least 5. I strive to be the best on the field and the best in the classroom. I understand that what ever college I go to, whether for baseball or not, I am going for a education. I hold 3.2 GPA, and I am enrolled in both AP and honors classes. Also, I am in my fifth year of a foreign language (German). Behind my schoolwork, baseball is what's most important in my life. I train year around, whether there's snow on the ground or it's 100 degrees outside. When ever I step on to the field I always am running out to position. Whenever a ball is hit, I am always moving, and try to think one step ahead of the current play. I was a co-captain on my highschool JV baseball team. For my highschool team I played outfield and pitcher. This summer I played on a college showcase team called the Beltway Dragons. For this team I mainly played outfield, we played against varsity players and top college recruits. For fall ball I played on the FCA Power 18u showcase team. My primary positions for this team were pitcher, and outfield. This summer, 2012, I will play for the 17 Richmond Braves. This year I am playing on Heritage High School
's Varsity Baseball team. My primary position will be as a pitcher but I will also be playing some outfield. I would like to go to a college that isn't completely isolated but also isn't completely submerged in a city. School size is not really a problem for me, but I would prefer not to go to a huge school because I'd like to be able to work hands on with my teachers. I would like to play at either a DII, or a DIII school. I am open to looking at all guys schools or Christian schools. I have a sister in college, so if I went out of state I would need financial assistance. My desired major is business or sports marketing. My goals are to be part of a college baseball program. If I don't start as a freshman or sophmore it isn't a big problem for me because I understand I just need to work harder. I like to be challenged because I feel that under pressure I perform better.
