Personal Statement

Dear Collegiate Coaches,

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile, I will be succinct. I have two goals for college: (1) continue playing competitive baseball and fulfill my athletic potential, and (2) get a quality education that will allow me to develop my intellect and character. I am a hard worker and good athlete, just like all your recruits, but let me give you three things I would like you to consider about me beyond my current baseball ability:

  • I am young and a late bloomer. I was small most of my baseball career, and I had to work to continue playing on my baseball program’s top team. I did not hit puberty until 10th grade, and I grew 6 inches and added 35lbs this year to reach my current 6’1” 160lbs (and hopefully still growing) frame. I think my baseball development in my younger years, coupled with this growth, will help me make big strides between now and college (and even in the college years). In other words, I think my best baseball is yet to come.
  • I am a serious, committed person. Academics are very important to me, and the rigor and standing of the college will be a big factor in my decisions. I work very hard in the classroom and at baseball.
  • I am quiet. I am working on this, as I am aware that it can impact my goals and relationships. That said, I am a loyal friend and teammate, and have considered myself a quiet leader on every team I have been a part of.

Thank you for considering me as a student athlete. I will not disappoint this trust.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
