"One of the best athletes in the school" (Aaron Jenniges, Head Varsity Basketball coach, Seton Catholic College Preparatory).
What makes me a great candidate for college baseball is that the coaching staff can always rely on me to be committed to the team, to listen to advice, train hard, and be able to maintain good grades. I have earned multiple school awards for my commitment to excellence in the classroom as well as my athletic contributions to my high school. I know exactly what it takes to maintain a 4.0 while being a starter/team captain on three varsity sports. In addition to this rigorous schedule, I continue to find time to volunteer in my community and help with youth sports programs.
An example of my work ethic can be seen during my Sophomore year of baseball when Covid hit. I used this as an opportunity to improve my game both intellectually and physically. This was an opportunity for me to gain muscle and get ahead. I train with “New Athlete” and with Advanced Therapy Performance Remote Programming. Currently I am able to deadlift 450 pounds, 240 reverse lunge, 3x separation throw 2lb medicine ball throw/41mph. Pitching is something I am very passionate about and strive to improve. My passion for pitching has led me to an interest in sports medicine, specifically in arm care for pitchers.
Athletically, I have had great pitching success on the mound but it is important to know that on every team I have ever been on, I am able to play infield and outfield which shows my athletic versatility. I have a strong arm and I am known for my speed. I am proud of the fact that I can always maintain composure during tough outings, my knuckle curve is one of my best pitches, and I am skilled at throwing off batters by altering the timing of my throws. This summer, I have gained experience as a closing pitcher against top tier teams which relies on composure and expectations to keep the win.
It is rare to find a three sport high school athlete that is a key player in all three. My speed and athletic ability have allowed me to have starting positions in all three sports. I am a starting Varsity pitcher that has the ability to play shortstop, third, second, or outfield. I am a starter in Varsity Football as cornerback and receiver. In Varsity Basketball, I am the starting point guard and led the team in points during conference play. Receiving the “Mr. Hustle award” sums up what you will find in me as a player.
I have been described by others as a quiet leader that leads by example with a very strong work ethic on and off the field.
