Gage Tawney '24 Recruiting Profile

I desire to play baseball in college at a high competitve level.  I am a good candidate for any college team in that I am fast, have a strong arm and am a powerful hitter.  I am a versatile player in that I am a strong outfielder, corner infielder and catcher.  I started my freshman year as a catcher for my high school baseball team, broke the team record for the number of throw outs my freshman year and then broke my record in my sopohmore year.  Our team won the state championship my sophmore year and advanced to the state tournament my freshman and junior year.   I am currently playing centerfield to address a team need.  I actually believe it is my strongest position because of my speed and strong arm.   My sophomore year, I led the team in extra basehits, homeruns, triples, slugging percentage, sacrifices and walks.   My junior year, I tied for the lead in team homeruns with 9 homeruns, and had a high OPS for the season.

I am also strong academically with a weighted GPA of approximately 4.4.  I attend a private high school with high expectations and take high honors classes and excel in these classes.    As a year round athlete, I have learned to be good at time management.  As you can see from my SAT scores, I am very strong in mathematics and plan on double majoring in finance and sports management to take advantage of this strength.
