Since my first time throwing a baseball at 10 months of age, baseball has become not only my passion but a big part of my life. I have always wanted to be a pitcher and my parents realized my goal and put me in pitching lessons early on, at age 10 where I learned proper technique and arm care. When I am not pitching, I am a strong 2nd baseman as well and can play any position infield or outfield given my strong arm. Attending a big high school like Hudson High which has about 2,500 students makes both sports and academics very competitive. Sports are very competitive in a large High School and most athletes are either forced to quit because of not meeting the highest skill set or are forced to pick one sport to focus on. Though I played both basketball and baseball my freshman year, with goals of playing college baseball, I decided to focus only on baseball. In that same Freshman year our Junior Legion Baseball team (made up of all Freshman players) played in the Wisconsin Junior Legion State Tournament, placing 3rd against nearly all older players. This says a lot about how talented we were as a team and how good of teammates we were to each other. I also strive myself in being a strong team player, knowing that we all must support each other to achieve our best. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, my team did not compete this past season during my Sophomore year where we had aspirations of winning the state tournament.
I not only have a strong and competitive work ethic in sports but I also value and strive for high academic achievement. Coming from a highly competitive academic High School, my 3.7 GPA says a lot about how serious I take my academics. My collegiate goals are to play baseball and to earn a degree where I can contribute my knowledge for the betterment of society. I have interests in Marketing, Business, and Sports Medicine. I have kept up my skills with significant off-season work and plan to play on a club team this Fall. Since my freshman year I have improved greatly due to constant off season work in both pitching and hitting. My exit velocity improved by 8 mph and my avg pitch speed went up 5 mph as of February 2020. I look to double these numbers by my junior season and I plan to work very hard to do so.
Thanks Coaches for checking out my profile! I look forward to showing my baseball skills on your team! You can expect that I will be a dedicated player, teammate, and student. I value education, sports, and family. I am open to all schools including private colleges as my parents went to Augustana University in South Dakota and Briar Cliff College in Iowa.
