Riley Hughes '19 Recruiting Profile

Hi Coach, my name is Riley Hughes and I’m in my junior year at Bradford High School in Kenosha WI.   I have loved the game of baseball since age three when I first started playing tee ball. Baseball has taught me many things that I will take with me into adulthood, such as how to be a team player, following instructions, being coachable, and if things go bad you need to learn from your mistakes as you work towards greatness.

I worked extremely hard after my freshman year to prepare myself for an opportunity to be a varsity starter as a sophomore by working weekly with a catcher and hitting coach from Carthage College. The hard work paid off when I received the starting catcher position and all conference and all county honorable mention honors. Now I intend to push myself even harder to become a better player by increasing my workouts and training with the catcher and hitting coach from Carthage as well as focusing on increasing my GPA from a 3.3 to above a 3.5 by the time I graduate high school in two years. There is always room for improvement which is something that I focus on all the time. I look forward to making a contribution to your team by my dedication and hard work, not only on the baseball field but in the classroom as well.
