My name is Abraham Maurer, I am a multi-sport athlete playing Baseball, Basketball, and Football. Baseball is by far my favorite sport because of the game within the game (holding runners, situations, pitch sequencing, and how the situation changes with every pitch). I love to compete and be a part of teams in other sports as well.
I believe attitude and effort will determine my success on and off the field. I believe in getting 1% better everyday. I get better by going to my local YMCA every weekday morning to workout at 5 A.M. I also work outside of practices each day striving to improve my skills. I improve my skills by long tossing, and going to the batting cage (ie: tee work, flips).
I carry the same attitude and beliefs into the classroom as well, where I have earned a 3.9 G.P.A. My efforts have allowed me to take college credit courses such as CAPP Calculus, CAPP Public Speaking, CAPP Writing, and AP US Government during my junior year in high school.
I want to play college baseball because it will help me in life, and I love playing baseball at a competitive level where people push me to become a better person and player. I understand that playing baseball (and all other sports) is a privilege, not a right, and for that, I am appreciative of every opportunity to play the game I love.
