Christian Schiek '20 Recruiting Profile

I am a leader both on and off the field.  I lead by example first. I have always been the starting quarterback, running back, and linebacker on my  football teams.  A starter and a big contributor on my basketball teams.  I also made the top baseball teams in my area every year and performed at the highest level of play.  After breaking my foot my freshman year on the basketball court and again during summer baseball freshman year, I decided to focus all my energies on the sport that I am most passionate about, which is baseball.  Now that my foot is healed, I hung up my football cleats and basketball shoes so I can train 6 days a week to focus all my energies on my baseball career as well as my academic career.  I have been the #3 or #4 hitter every year in baseball since I started playing travel ball at the age of 10.  I hit for high average and for power. I mainly play 3rd base and catch, but I have played every position at a high level.  Also, I have a very strong arm. I am very coachable.  I love my coaches and enjoy playing the game. I hit home runs over the 350' and 365' fences in both the semi-final and final game of the 2016 Fox Valley Youth Baseball League and our team won the Championship. In the Championship, I hit 3 for 4 with a Home Run, Triple and a Single and was our catcher. I am also a high academic achiever and have been on the highest honor roll every year.  My only sibling, my sister, received 3 amazing division 1 offers and is attending Santa Clara University on a full athletic softball scholarship. She is also a high academic achiever and now I want to use my gift and talents at a strong athletic and academic University.  Last but not least, my faith in God is also very important to me and is the reason along with my parents that I am able to pursue my college dreams.
