Hello, my name is Ryan Williamson, I am a right-handed pitcher from Oshkosh West who will be graduating in 2024. My goal is to continue to play baseball as I go to college and obtain a degree in business. I hope to play college baseball for the right program, ideally in the Midwest, which would offer the best fit for life, academics and baseball.
As a pitcher I have a very high spin rate on my fastball(+2,600 rpm) and curveball(+3,000 rpm) which allows me to generate a lot of movement and deception on my pitches. In 2022, Prep Baseball Report listed me as having the highest rpm on curveballs at their events in 2022. I had an E.R.A of less than 1.00 in over 35 innings pitched between varsity at Oshkosh West and 19U legion for Oshkosh in 2022 as a sophomore. I was in the closer role for both teams but can start or relieve in any situation.
Unfortunately, I suffered an injury in 2022 that kept me off the field for most of the 2023 season. It was found after the legion playoffs in 2022 that I had a fully torn UCL. Dr. Mejia at Orthopedic Sports Medicine in Appleton, WI performed Tommy John surgery on 08//07/2022. Surgery went great and I have worked very hard to get back and was cleared to return. I missed the 2023 HS season but pitched twice early in the 2023 legion season and did well however after the last game I did have some pain and was advised to rest the arm for the rest of the summer which unfortunately was the rest of the legion season and all camps and showcases. The video on my profile page is from June 2023 in my first appearance after surgery.
I am continuing to rehab and look forward to helping Oshkosh West have a great 2024 season. I know I can be a very successful college pitcher and an asset to the right program and school. I am hoping for an opportunity, if the right school and coach can see what I have overcome and how I pitch and give me an opportunity, I will not let them down.
