Austin Pagel '24 Recruiting Profile

Dear College Baseball Coaches and Scouts,

I am writing this statement to express my love and passion for the game of baseball and my dreams of becoming a college baseball player myself. My goal is to play college baseball at any level for any team that is willing to accept me. I believe that my unique combination of skills as a pitcher, my dedication, and my character would make me an excellent candidate for your team. 

As a pitcher I understand that velocity off the mound is often a defining factor in the evaluation of a player. While I completely appreciate the importance of throwing hard, I want to emphasize that I bring much more to the table other than having a good throwing velocity. I am a versatile player that can consistently throw five different pitches for strikes to always keep the batter guessing. I take much pride in my ability to mix pitches effectively, locate with accuracy, and always keep the batter dancing on his toes. My broad understanding of the game allows me to analyze situations and adjust my approach on the fly, and always being able to rely on my instincts. Making me a valuable asset on the mound.

Along with being a competitor on the mound, I am also a competitor in the classroom. Maintaining a solid 3.7 GPA throughout the end of junior year. Baseball may be an important area of life, but school will always above it. 

I hope that after reading this, you will have gotten to know me a little and I am hoping that soon we can be in touch. Again, I will gladly play for any program that will accept me as it in a privilege and an honor to be able to play the great game of baseball at the college level
