My love for baseball began as far back as I can remember, playing catch and hitting with anything that resembled a bat and ball. While I have also played football that long, along with a few seasons of wrestling and basketball, baseball has always been my number one.
I have mainly played shortstop/middle infield all of my baseball career, filling in as a pitcher, catcher, and outfielder as needed. My goal is to continue to be a vacuum in middle infield and dependable hitter throughout a college career.
Beginning at eight years old, I played for Stevens Point Youth Baseball Association on a travel team until I was fourteen years old. At fourteen, I tried out for Stevens Point Sixers American Legion Post 6 and became the starting second baseman for the Junior Sixers.
During my freshman year of high school, I started at second base and was lead-off batter for Junior Varsity for Stevens Point Area Senior High. The summer after my freshman year I started as shortstop and three-hole batter for the Stevens Point Junior Sixers. I also joined the club team, JBA Clutch, that summer in order to get in as much baseball as possible, face increased competition, and work on taking my skills to the next level.
Along with baseball, I continue to play football which helps me cross train throughout the summer and fall. A lot of the weightroom training and speed drills have helped me with my power for hitting and speed on the field. I played Varsity football for Stevens Point Area Senior High my sophomore year with one interception on the books and a few interceptions while starting on Junior Varsity that year as Safety.
During the winter of my sophomore year, I trained at GRB Academy out of Howard, WI until my school baseball season began. My sophomore season of high school baseball for Stevens Point Area Senior High allowed me to join a very strong Varsity squad as the starting shortstop for our 26-3 season. I was named First Team All Conference and Honorable Mention All District.
Currently, I'm starting shortstop for GRB Rays Yellow, as well as Stevens Point Sixers, for the summer 2024 season. I'm looking forward to spending all summer working with both of these talented groups to continue to improve. I am also cross training with my high school football team's summer program.
I have worked very hard putting in countless hours in the weightroom, focusing on nutrition, drilling on the field and in the cage, utilizing indoor facilities during Wisconsin's cold winter, and training to get to where I am today. I will continue to put in more work than everyone else around me to up my game to the next level and achieve my ultimate goal of playing college baseball.
