Baseball has had a substantial impact on my life. Growing up I dreamed of being in the MLB. I just loved every aspect of the game- watching the Brewers on TV, playing any chance I could get, and learning everything I could about the sport. Even though I play hockey and soccer as well, baseball has always been the sport I have enjoyed most. I watch every Brewer game excluding ones that are scheduled during my own games. I know the outcome to most scenarios in a game, and that is why I’m ready for the ball on every pitch.
Some of my earliest competitive baseball memories started when I was just six years old as the youngest on the 7U travel team. When I was nine years old, I was the youngest player on the Little League State Champion Team for 10U. While in youth baseball my teams won many tournaments in travel ball, but now they are much more important. We took second place at the 16U Legion State Tournament when I was a freshman. As a sophomore, I made the varsity team and became the leading hitter on the WIAA and Legion Class A State Championship Teams. My sophomore year, I was voted unanimous 1st Team All Conference player and recognized in state as one of the “top newcomers of the year” for high school baseball.
Not only do I want to play baseball at a higher level, I would love to work my way up a professional baseball organization’s front office and apply statistics into creating a great major league analytics program. I know how important it is for me to do well academically so I can contribute in finding new systems used to evaluate players. I would like to enroll in a prestigious school that would be able to prepare me for a major league front office job. This is important for me to be able to work towards a career that I’m passionate about.
